Chief Accountant

Work conditions:

Workplace: Port Baku office and Alat district

Monthly NET salary: 3000 AZN

Work schedule: 5 days per week, from 9 AM till 6 PM (1 hour of lunch break)

Main responsibilities:

• Manage all bookkeeping tasks including but not limited to, accounts receivables and payables, bank reconciliation, maintain and balance general ledger, tax report filings, prepare various financial statements and individual property reports, etc.
• Enter or control the entry and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
• Maintain general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
• Assist CEO and Head of Accounting with cash flow forecasting, fundraising initiatives
• Develop streamlined processes and input/upload accounting entries into ERP, including monthly expenses, rental income, client’s payroll, and investment payables/distributions
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual accounting, performance, and analytics reports
• Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll
• Direct, conduct, and/or participate in cost analysis and cost optimization initiatives
• Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another related field
• 10 years of accounting experience, minimum 5 years of experience as a Chief Accountant (preferably in logistics)
• Previous experience with both local and international accounting standards
• Relevant international certification is a plus
• Fluency in Azerbaijani, English and Russian languages (due to communication with international stakeholders)
• A service-oriented mentality and the ability to work cross-functionally
• Curiosity and a problem-solving mindset
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously with minimal supervision
• High attention to details
