The global oilfield provider of engineered services and products primarily to the offshore oil and gas industry declares job vacancies to the following position:
Job Title: Trainee Technician (Coating Inspection emphasis)
Location: Baku, Azerbaijan
This is a limited position of 18 months, which is a reasonable amount of time to acquire NACE CIP Level 2 certification and relevant experience and training to move to Local Coating Inspector classification.
Responsible for:
• Assisting in Coating Inspection and other inspection duties while training to acquire NACE CIP Level 2 and move to Local Coating Inspector position. This will require travel throughout Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
MAIN DUTIES:
Primary
• Assist and Train under Coating Inspector to acquire Local Coating Inspector classification.
• Follow all applicable Oceaneering and BP guidelines, policies and proecedures in conjunction with assigned work
• Gather data from as guided and requested by Coating Inspectors
• Produce accurate reports with guidance from Coating Inspectors
• Attend meetings relevant to specific inspection projects and coating processes.
• Attend coating manufactures meetings when available to acquire specific coating processes information.
• Carry out inspection assignments according to relevant procedures and guidelines both BP and manufactures as instructed.
• Ensure compliance with Oceaneering and BP, HSE polices and systems.
Secondary
• Provide general assistance to Inspection Engineers (IE) and Senior Inspection Engineers (SIE) as required.
COMPETENCY – SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
• NACE CIP Level 1 or equivalent certification
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Proficient in Spoken and Written English
• Valid Passport
• Be able to pass an Offshore Medical exam.
Preferred:
• Proficient in the use of engineering drawings; both isometric and P&ID.
• Oil industry knowledge and work experience.
