Job Title:    Corrosion Engineer
Location:    Baku, Azerbaijan
RESPONSIBLE FOR:  (a) Graduate/Assistant Corrosion Engineer

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: 

Design, mana  Implement and deliver assigned asset corrosion engineering work including control strategy(ies), participate in and effectively report upon those activities and practices, and provide other assigned corrosion engineering support services to Oceaneering and/ or  client companies as required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Manage and implement assigned corrosion engineering work  covering corrosion monitoring and inspection activities on structural and process plant, determination of process corrosion loops and circuits, interpretation of corrosion trends or other information required to inform wider integrity management processes(using ACET® or other databases), participation in and contribution to RBI process groups, preparation of written or oral ad hoc, periodic and annual reports as appropriate providing clear and informed information on the integrity status of systems to clients or colleagues in Oceaneering.
Continuously review Corrosion Monitoring & Inspection Strategies to ensure that they remain appropriate for the particular assets assigned.
Undertake periodic strategic or other reviews as required to ensure comprehensive information, advice and recommendations are issued clearly and timely to clients relating to integrity demands or requirements, and to enable the development and timeous completion and submission of annual plans, work scopes, work packs and budgets etc.
Undertake pro active, careful and regular interpretation of corrosion/inspection monitoring data and develop or implement consequential changes in corrosion monitoring programs.
Identify all present and reasonably foreseeable corrosion threats or wider deterioration trends and determine their significance in the context of present and future asset operational circumstances ensuring all integrity considerations are addressed.  Effectively interface with and assist other asset personnel in the identification of suitable mitigation techniques.
Undertake or co-ordinate the production of failure investigations into material and corrosion issues in accordance with prescribed or approved failure investigation procedures.
Participate in and provide input to the regular review of corrosion management information such as Corrosion Control Matrices, Key Performance Indicators or other asset specific requirements.

General

Assist with any other appropriate duties and responsibilities as and when required, also undertake specific projects as may be instructed by management from time to time. It is expected that Corrosion Engineers will develop external professional activities including conference and committee work where it is consistent with the development and delivery of the business objectives and mission of Oceaneering IIM.

 

Required Qualifications and Skills:

University degree in Engineering.
At least 3 years experience in Corrosion field.
Proficiency in English and Azeri
Good Communication Skills
A Team Player
Ability to act independently and proactively
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Written and oral communication skills
