Job title:  Finance Director

General
Finance Director is a function in the Finance department of the Company and reports to the Executive Director. The primary duty of the position is to manage the Company’s planning, cash flows, accounting and reporting in accordance with the best practices and respective international standards.

Areas of responsibility:
Accounting
IFRS reporting
Planning & Budgeting
Financial controls
Treasury operations

Job duties:

The basic job duties will include, but not be limited to:

Financial Accounting
(1) Lead, coordinate and supervise the work of financial accounting department;
a) Ensure preparation and update of Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual for local and IFRS reporting purposes;
b) Approve accounting treatment of various technical issues and implement the approved treatment;
c) Ensure controls are in place for proper GL entries;
d) Ensure proper flow of accounting information and resolve issues on an on-going basis;
e) Lead ERP process to ensure operation of automated controls over business processes and availability of reliable data;
f) Ensure data integrity (e.g. regular back-up of ERP database)
g) Ensure proper reconciliations, checks and error detection procedures are in place.

(2) Tax Accounting
a) Ensure timely submission of tax filings to the tax authorities by pre-determined deadlines;
b) Perform tax optimization, wherever possible;
c) Perform regular reviews (at appropriate circumstances by involving a professional tax consultant) to identify tax risks and suggest solutions to minimize and/or eliminate the risks;

(3) Reporting, Analysis and performance management
a) Ensure preparation of management accounts (P&L, Cash Flow statement, Balance Sheet) for each month by a set deadline;
b) Prepare daily management accounts
c) Analyze different aspects of operations and optimize costs and revenues
d) Measure Company’s performance with respect to targets and suggest corrective actions
e)  Prepare analytical reports on different aspects of operations

(4) Budgeting and planning
 a) Lead preparation of annual budgets
 b) Lead preparation of 5-year business plan
 c) Build control system over budgetary spending
 
(5) ERP system management
 a) Define ERP needs
 b) Develop scope for ERP implementation
 c) Lead Company-wide ERP implementation

(6) Internal control systems
 a) Build sound internal controls over all aspects of Company operations
 b) Establish business processes, procedures and policies

(7) Treasury operations
 a) Ensure sound controls over cash collection process
b) Build cash forecasting function for weekly, monthly and quarterly cash flows
 c) Determine the most optimal strategy for fund-raising
 d) Negotiate with banks and lenders for best terms
 e) Manage free cash for best use

(8) IFRS reporting
a)  Ensure preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS on a pre-defined frequency;
b) Support external auditors in performing their audits of IFRS financial statements and local PTR;

(9)  Staff management
a) Set goals for and monitor the performance of staff in the finance department in line with the Company policies;
b) Ensure compliance of staff in the finance department with all Company policies and procedures;
c) Educate, train and support develop the staff;

Finance Director may have to perform other tasks as delegated by the Executive Director and deemed to be in the competency of Finance Director.

Requirements

Education:
University education in finance, accounting and/or other related business disciplines. International certification (e.g. ACCA) will be preferred.

Work experience:
Minimum 5 years of work experience in a related field is required. Minimum 2 years of work experience as Finance Director.

IT skills:
a) Good workable knowledge of MS Office programs (Excel, Word)
b) Experience with one of ERP programs (1C, SAP, Oracle, Navision, Sun Systems etc.) will be preferred

Languages:
The candidate should be fluent in Azerbaijani, Russian and English. Turkish will be preferred.
