JOB TITLE: Community Health Educator
 
LOCATION: Baku, Azerbaijan
 
Abt Associates is seeking a Community Health Educator for a USAID-funded Azerbaijan Strengthening Health Systems through Integrated Programs project that aims to address Azerbaijani health system constraints in the areas of governance, resource management, quality of services and the education and empowerment of health care consumers.
 
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• Design and develop training materials and package for community members and community action groups on various health topics
• Conduct training sessions for community members and community action groups on health topics
• Support  community members in  health related community-based decision making process. 
• Conduct monitoring visits to communities and provide guidance for CAG members in formulation and dissemination of  health messages
• Provide support in organization of health related community events
 
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
 
• Higher or secondary medical education
• Ability to travel extensively  to regions of Azerbaijan
• Experience in the working in international organizations is preferable
• Experience in similar activities is preferable
• Good teaching, presentation and communication skills
• Good Azeri language.
