AMEC Services Ltd, a major Western Design Engineering and Construction Company involved in Oil and Gas Projects in Azerbaijan is looking for experienced Structural Engineer

Prime responsibilities and duties:

• Inform the Project lead Engineer of the technical aspects of all work to which he is assigned
• Ensure compatibility of structural engineering work within his responsibility with that of other discipline.
• Maintain knowledge of CAD/CAE ensure that work in these areas is carried out effectively
• Discharge responsibilities under the Health and Safety at work Act
• Assist in the guidance and training of junior staff.
• Carry out all analysis, calculations, and studies as directed by the Project Lead Engineer. Ensure that calculations are prepared and checked in accordance with structural procedures.
• Prepare engineering sketches for designers
• Perform engineering check and structural drawings
• Carry out checks of other engineer’s calculations.
• Undertake interface responsibilities as directed by the Project Lead Engineer
• Evaluate alternative engineering solutions to design problems to give best-value result.
• Review use of best engineering tools to solve any design problem and advise on their application
• To become familiar with “Safety by Action” and the annual Personal Performance Contract
• To support Distributed Engineering
• To actively participate in Communities of Practice
• To read, understand and implement the Company Safety Policy and the arrangements described in the Company and area Safety Management System documents.

The successful candidates should have:

• An experience in related project work with demonstrated capabilities, having successfully undertaken work on engineering projects;
• Must be Computer literate, and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs   (Word, Excel, Access) and be conversant with AutoCad;
• Hold relevant qualifications (diplomas, bachelors, masters etc.);
• Advanced knowledge of English and Azeri languages (spoken and written);
• Strong interpersonal & organisational skills.

Previous experience of working in western company would be beneficial.
