"State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023"
About the Program
PhD Studies abroad program is one of the areas to be addressed within the "State Program (SP) on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023". The program aims to train a new generation of highly qualified professionals in PhD level and modernize the content and quality indicators of Azerbaijani higher education system by taking advantage of the cutting-edge scientific achievements and innovative teaching technologies abroad.
Position Summary
The Program Specialist is responsible for the marketing, advising, and admitting efforts for the student of the PhD Studies abroad program. Services may include enrollment services, student recruitment, community outreach, program specific promotional events and program funding.
The Program Specialist is employed by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and reports to the Head of Implementation Unit for “State Programme 2019-2023” that was established under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Responsibilities
• Support the development of recruitment plans for PhD Studies abroad program;
• Coordinate an official announcement for acceptance of documents for PhD studies abroad program;
• Audit applicant records and notify students/potential students of problems, missing documents, etc. regarding their academic records required for completion of the admission process;
• Act as first and continual point of contact for prospective students from enquiry through to the enrolment of new students to the PhD Studies abroad program;
• Develop the database of the fields of experts and coordinate the involvement of experts in the interview process;
• Coordinate the interview and selection processes;
• Respond timely and appropriately to internal and external queries concerning progress and status of an application;
• Communicate with applicants about their application status, including acceptance/rejection;
• Coordinate the contracting process between the parties;
• Prepare and submit the relevant documents to the financial manager for program funding purposes;
• Support program logistics, making travel arrangement, providing support letters, ordering student cards etc.;
• Assist with the administration of student pre and post departure sessions;
• Support in development of detailed plans for promotions of the PhD Studies abroad program in line with the marketing strategy;
• Update the website and social media with the progress on PhD Studies abroad program;
• Prepare press release and statistical reports as required;
• Record and report accurate and timely information on Student Information System;
• Perform all other relevant duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field;
• Minimum 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified;
• Experience in recruitment and marketing in educational industry; experience of Social Media is a plus.
• Experience with technology-based Student Information Systems;
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload in order to meet deadlines, while maintaining a high degree of accuracy;
• Strong commitment to customer service and appropriate problem-resolution techniques;
• Ability and willingness to collaborate in a team environment;
• Fluent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and online communications;
• Highly developed communication skills in both oral and written, fluency in Azerbaijani and English;
• Confident in dealing with people at all levels, excellent rapport building skills;
• Confident working in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking, and ability to work independently.
