Head of Risk Department
Reports to: Deputy General Director for Finance and Economics
Experience:
a. At least 5 (five) years;
b. Experience in the use of qualitative and quantitative (financial/risk) analytical and modeling techniques (FRM is a plus).
Education:
Higher degree, preferably in the fields of Finance, Economics or engineering.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to lead initiatives with minimal supervision;
- Strong people skills and solid team player;
- Excellent presentation skills, outstanding formal and informal communication abilities, comfortable presenting to senior management;
- Well-developed business acumen and strategic agility;
- Ability to communicate timely business insights from the data and share and defend those insights;
- Ability to think outside the current processes and make recommendations;
- Strong logical, analytic and creative thinking abilities.
- Strong staff coaching and mentoring skills;
- MS office suite, fluent Azerbaijani and English.
Must have knowledge of:
1) Legislation of Azerbaijan Republic related to the scope of activity, applied standards and internal normative documents;
2) Internal rules of labour discipline;
3) Labour safety, safety technique, production sanitary norms and rules;
4) Business ethic code.
Key work functions:
1. To oversee the preparation of risk management plan of the Company;
2. To lead the process of risk identification that might affect the Company’s financial assets;
3. To oversee determining risk factors which can affect financial resources of the company;
4. To report to management the likelihood of potential risks and their monetary scope;
5. To lead the evaluation of the monetary loss/gain by determining risk magnitude of investment projects;
6. To suggest alternative solutions on various risks faced by the Company;
7. To control the assessment and analysis of risk appetite and risk acceptance capability;
8. To monitor risk activities and present to senior management;
9. To support the process of creating value for shareholders to implement business strategies of the Company through maintaining the risk at the level acceptable for the management;
10. To conform risk management process with the Company objectives and strategy;
11. To lead the preparation of risk management methodologies and corporate risk map;
12. To realize risk management assessment of investment projects;
13. To execute the identification of the Company risk appetite;
14. To lead internal control system and preparation and execution of contingency plan;
15. To ensure analysis of existing and/or potential risks and create a basis for adoption of relevant risk plan;
16. To ensure the relevancy of risk plan and to control risk factors;
17. To ensure effective communication with senior management, department staff, and various functions/departments;
18. To lead the achievement of department KPIs or performance targets set for the department;
19. To ensure that all business processes and actions of the department are in full compliance with the standards, rules, and regulations of the Company;
20. To develop business prosesses and procedures of the department;
21. To execute any other relevant tasks given by the senior management.
