Job Description

A Steel Structure QC Inspector is responsible for overseeing all the activities and duties of the Subcontractors welding and Painting staff and ensuring that everything is in proper working manner.

- Performs 100% Visual Inspection of Welds in Structural Steel Elements;
- Perform or follow the Welders Qualification and PQR;
- Reports Directly to Welding Supervisor about any Quality Deficiencies;
- Check and ensure that all drilling, cutting and welding activities are performed with an IFC drawing and has the last revision;
- Perform inspection for the base and filler material used for the Steel Structure and ensure that the proper traceability is performed;
- Perform daily survey at the filler material warehouse and control that the storage conditions are fulfilled;
- Prepare welding progress daily reports and track the welding repair rate;
- Check and ensure that all the welders have the proper qualification and follow the approved WPS for the welding activities performed in the workshop;
- Check and ensure that all required NDT are performed based on the project standards and approved NDT procedures;
- Reports Directly to QA/QC Manager about mistakes or welding problems and Tracks the Daily Information;
- Perform daily survey at the painting shop and ensure that all the activities are in accordance with the procedures and the material data sheet;
- Ensures Supervisors and Employees understand and adhere the Quality Control Program;
- Ensure that all inspection works are followed with the ITP and Project Specification;
- Keep control and witness the daily RFI received;
- Collaborates with departments and external suppliers regarding Quality concerns;
- Monitor workshop Activities to ensure conformance with applicable Standards, Policies, Procedures and/or Drawings Specifications;
- Manage and Conduct Audits at Welding and Paint Departments
- Reviews and Assists in product complaint investigations and assists Supervisors with investigations;
- Perform inspections on projects requiring expertise and knowledge under the direct supervision of the Quality Control Manager;
- Check the Maintains Equipment operation in the fab shop and calibration list;
- Monitor Rejection rate and advise when improvement is required.
- Liaise on daily basis with Client/Employer.
