Job Title: Rotating Equipment Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to the following:

• Develop, plan and execute the condition monitoring / analysis and troubleshooting activities for rotating equipment in assigned area.
• Develop, plan and monitor the execution of rotating equipment maintenance strategy for the assigned area. Investigate rotating equipment recurring failures in the assigned area.
• Develop, monitor implementation and revise plant rotating equipment maintenance strategies to ensure and enhance the integrity and reliability of rotating equipment.
• Develop, plan and execute condition monitoring, analysis and troubleshooting activities to maintain and enhance rotating equipment integrity and reliability.
• Review Bad Actor list (rotating equipment), analyze the problems/issues and provide recommendations to ensure and enhance asset reliability.
• Provide technical advice for operations and maintenance on condition of machines and repair methods (W/S and Field) to ensure and enhance rotating equipment integrity and reliability.
• Provide shutdown / turnaround scope of work for rotating equipment to ensure and enhance availability and integrity of plant and equipment.
• Plan, prepare and execute assigned S/D and T/A maintenance tasks (inspection / reporting) to ensure safe and reliable operation of the plant.
• Provide MCP with technical support by reviewing and validating requisitions to ensure materials are acquired as per specifications.
• Provide MCP with technical support by providing/reviewing scope of work to ensure appropriate contract services are acquired.
• Lead, motivate, develop and assess the assigned team to achieve business objectives and grow capability.
• Act as a single point of contact between the company, OEMs and customers.
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policy and legislation.
• Review and update existing company maintenance strategy documents.
• Troubleshoot breakdown problems associated with the rotating equipment.
• Consult Field Service Engineers and Supervisors on technical problems.
• Continuously review packages for obsolete parts and find alternative solutions.
• Work on upgrade and modification projects to increase reliability of the rotating equipment.
• Provide input for updating required spare part lists/catalogues and inventory for rotating equipment.
• Work closely with Maintenance Planner to make sure all activities are accordingly planned, scheduled and executed.
• Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.
• Carry out quality inspections on performed jobs through CMMS.
• Monitor equipment performance and ensure equipment is performing effectively and efficiently.
• Review deficiencies noted during preventative maintenance and make sure corrective action plan is in place.
• Use remote online condition monitoring system on daily basis to assess health of the units and react on alerts.
• Review/raise NCRs associated with rotating equipment.
• Provide technical guidance for the preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Serve as the focal point for monitoring performance indicators for maintenance management.
• Analyze equipment and operating data and correct when needed.
• Define KPIs for equipment performance and maintenance efficiency and produce monthly reports.
• Provide engineering support for root cause analysis.

Education/Experience and Qualification:

- High school diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the engineering field, preferably in a similar field.
- Expert knowledge of the rotating equipment (gas turbine driven compressor and generator packages) and auxiliaries.
- Experience of rotordynamic analysis as applied to rotating equipment used in the oil and gas industry
- Experience and knowledge of condition monitoring of rotating equipment
- Experience and understanding of the engineering of centrifugal compressors, gas turbines, pumps, and supporting systems in Oil and Gas or equivalent industry.
- Broad experience of Rotating Equipment engineering in Oil and Gas Operations and Projects.
- Good knowledge of Rotating Equipment discipline standards used in the Oil and Gas industry; industry standards (e.g. American Petroleum Institute - API) and BP Engineering Technical Practices.
- Ability to develop strong technical relationships with key stakeholders and Operating Functions
- Pragmatic when balancing technical decisions and operational needs.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schemes.
- Good working knowledge of CMMS tool.
- Understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Rotating equipment troubleshooting experience.
- Good analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Be able to work on own initiative, work to deadlines and also be a team player.
- An ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work across technology functions and within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Good team working skills.
- Good verbal and written communication and influencing skills
- A strong team player with the ability to work standalone in challenging situation
- Good technical writing skills.
- Fluent English language.
- Advanced PC user.
