We are currently looking for candidates to fill the following positions: Laboratory Technician.
Job title: Chemical Laboratory Technician
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Sample preparation to allow analyses oil, gas, or water samples for inorganic/organic chemical compounds using equipment such as Solid Phases Extraction (SPE), Gas Chromatography, and/or Gas Chromatography/Mass spectrometry.
• Assist in qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis of oil, gas, and water samples.
• Take direction form the Laboratory Manager daily to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Collect process control samples for analysis using in-house lab equipment.
• Collect effluent compliance samples, per state-issued discharge permit, and submit samples to an outside laboratory for analysis, including lab-required paperwork.
• Perform sampling and analysis of products according to the sampling and duty schedules and completion of same in accordance with ISO procedures that affect product quality and quality control systems are followed.
• Input analytical data into the electronic database and/or software for data tracking/management/reporting.
• Responsible for ensuring that client & company HSE standards are uniformly applied to all activities within your control.
• In the event of an emergency, carry out such duties as identified in the emergency response procedure or as directed by site management.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Minimum of a B.S. degree in Chemistry.
• Language Skills: Azerbaijani, English, Russian
• Demonstrable previous experience in a similar laboratory technician role.
• Experience with sample preparation techniques (such as dilution, concentration, etc., i.e. weigh bench techniques) desirable.
• Oil & Gas industry background desirable.
• Experience with Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) including associated software desirable.
• Experience preparing and documenting calibration standards and solutions required for testing desirable.
