Operations Supervisor
Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure smooth running of day-to-day operations for both Imports & Exports
Drive customer service excellence by ensuring the team is meeting client KPI’s and is adding value to the clients
Guide staff on selecting the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking into account the nature of goods, cost, transit time and security;
Ensure goods are adequately packed for the selected mode of transport.
Negotiate contracts, transportation and handling costs, preparing and checking sales quotations.
Ensure documentation is in compliance with relevant legislation and goods are customs cleared in timely fashion
Handle key accounts, especially high value, Out of Gauge, Heavy, and time sensitive urgent shipments.
Extensive client and supplier liaison and negotiations. Act as an escalation point for customer service complaints
Recruit, manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations and other factors that could affect the movement of freight and guide staff on this accordingly.
Qualifications
University degree in Economics, International Trade, or International Economic Affairs desired
Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel) and ability to work with ERP systems
Advanced knowledge of spoken and written English, Azerbaijan, Turkish, and Russian
Strong ability to work in a calm manner whilst under pressure both individually and in the team
5+ years’ experience in freight forwarding managerial role with steady work history
Strong Leadership and Outstanding Customer service skills.
