Experienced Tax Advisor

What we do

Our Tax department professionals assist our clients in managing local and foreign taxes to achieve business goals. We help clients stay compliant with tax regulations, provide correct tax reporting and effectively deal with tax authorities. We also advise on structuring of business, deals and operations to minimize financial and legal risks and maximize business value.

Opening position in our Tax practice is an excellent opportunity to join a team of leading experts in consulting business and manage complex and exciting projects for key industry leaders as well as number of smaller companies.

Responsibilities

Managing the following project assignments:

o Consulting clients on different corporate tax matters including:
- compliance with applicable tax regulations and mitigation of tax risks
- structuring of intra-group transactions, including transfer pricing aspects, allocation of costs and profits
- structuring of deals from tax perspective
- overall tax planning, optimization, use of favorable tax regimes and tax advantages provided in the legislation
- tax burden modelling
o Participation in tax health check, review of tax function
o Tax audit and tax due diligence projects and drafting opinions on tax positions
o Facilitating large tax projects as part of Project Management Office
o Assistance in negotiations with tax authorities
• Preparation of client deliverables, reports, proposals, contracts and other project-related documentation as well as marketing materials
• Communication with clients and maintaining successful client relationships
• Allocation of resources, developing project approach and overall management of group’s engagements
• Coaching and performance management of junior staff
• Participation in marketing activities of the department

To fill the role a candidate is expected to meet the following requirements:

• Completed university degree (preferable in taxation, economics, finance, law)
• At least 5 years of experience in tax/legal consulting in reputable local or international companies
• Experience of managing small teams (preferably, consulting)
• Excellent knowledge of Azerbaijan tax legislation and accounting principles
• Azerbaijan or international professional qualification is an advantage
• Fluent Azerbaijan, Russian and English
• Strong analytical skills and logical thinking
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and multitask
• Excellent project and people management skills
• Ability to go on business trips
