Job Title: Instrumentation Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to the following:

 To review design drawings and find out deviations from design drawings
 Scrutinize drawings and specifications; understand scope, design details and special problems to ensure that contract documents are correct, fully understood and special problems highlighted. Provide field engineering solutions to incorporate design changes necessitated by field conditions and advise Project Engineer to initiate variation orders to cover changes as required. Communicate variation in schedule, materials and workmanship to the Project Engineer, prepare relevant documentation for Project Change Requests and forward for approval as per the schedule of authority and company/ department procedures to ensure that all Variation Purchase Orders are in line with audit requirements
 To survey quantities and measure actual works done
 To work closely with Cost Controller to prepare monthly invoices
 Inspect control-and- instrument site construction, fabrication and equipment for compliance with applicable codes and project requirements.
 To take a lead role in installation, test & commissioning phases of project
 Evaluate and recommend solutions for technical issues in control and instrument area
 To prepare Material Take-Off according to design drawings and coordinate with PSCM department to purchase correct materials
 To prepare design and engineering deliverables including drafting works, survey reports, task risk assessment, method statements, as-built drawings etc.
 To take part in cost estimation analysis during preparation of bid proposals;
 To check deliverables prepared by other technical personnel, taking part in Instrumentation surveys, inspection, liaison with client technical personnel on technical requirements
 To conduct survey, report on existing Instrumentation installations and identify customer requirements
 To provide instrument design details for new and refurbishment projects
 Interpreting design specifications and technical drawings
 To prepare status reports, daily reports during execution phase of the project
 To develop and prepare detailed instrumentation engineering and construction installation documents and provide engineering support during all phases of project to management and field installation employees
 Carry out Technical reviews of all Tender bids from PSCM and advise accordingly
 To keep interface with Procurement department to coordinate all related issues
 Use HART and FF field communicator to communicate with instruments and set values.
 Performing commissioning works in accordance with standards regarding Testing and Commissioning requirements for ESD & PCS cabinets, DCS systems, F&G Panels, transmitters, detectors, valves, gauges, switches, analyzers.
 To undertake administrative and technical site related activities
 Verification and acceptance of mechanical completion and commissioning handover packages in line with the agreed system handover schedule
 Create a clear execution installation plan, including planning job task labor, and material deliveries;
 Co-ordinate & liaise with subcontractors, client and in-house resources;
 Ensure all health and safety documentation is in place, is appropriate, specific, communicated, understood and amended as and when required;

Education/Experience and Qualification:

 Relevant technical education or recognized industry apprenticeship.
 Minimum 5 years of experience in the relevant field in the industrial construction projects.
 Detailed knowledge of electrical codes and best practices.
 Intermediate written and verbal communication skills in English
 AutoCAD skills are preferable
 Candidates with full details CompEX (EX01,EX02,EX03,EX04) /BOSIET /Hawke Gland and Termination certificates are preferable.
