Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Summary and Purpose of Role:

The Facility Mechanical Engineer is responsible for providing mechanical engineering for projects and problem resolution or enhancements on the mechanical building systems at the Chrysler Technology Center. The Engineer also will assess maintenance records and the mechanical condition of various mechanical/utility systems and equipment

Areas of Responsibility Include:

Job Role Responsibilities:

- Carries out operation and maintenance of all mechanical, air conditioning (plant and equipment) and all other building services.
- Weekly visit to Stores, advise and assist mechanical supervisors and ensures that maintenance is carried out in a timely and technically efficient manner according to available resources.
- Executes all necessary minor upgrading and new works as delegated by the Facility Manager.
- Ensures that spare parts and consumable material are requisitioned in good time and with due regard to the high cost of spares.
- Carries out regular assessment of staff and make recommendations accordingly
- Continually strives to improve departmental standards.
- Investigate equipment failures and diagnose faulty operation; provide recommendations to customer.
- Control engineering changes during project execution;
- Provide detailed technical reports for Facilities Management to assess subsystem performance and modification or upgrade requirements.
- Responsible for representing the company in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members.
- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for facility maintenance.
- Establish schedules and methods for providing facility maintenance services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
- Oversees installation, inspections, repairs, trouble shooting and daily maintenance of buildings, infrastructures, and facility equipment.
- Develop and organize preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for all facilities and equipment.
- Responsible for keeping buildings and facilities in good status to comply with environmental, health, and safety policies
- Coordinate with contractors in providing contract services.
- Answer questions and provide information to the public; investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints.
- Complaints shall be logged and reported to SD Facility Manager on a weekly basis.
- Perform related duties as required.

Position Qualification

Knowledge

 2-3 years’ experience in facility management.
 Bachelor degree or equivalent.
 Strong electrician background/experience.
 A highly motivated individual with entrepreneurial approach.
 Possess an extremely friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing personality, with ability to openly communicate and work with all types of individuals and personalities.
 Ability to develop right working process
