Role: Mechanic

Our company is currently looking for a “Mechanic” to work under the following conditions:
Work Location: Baku, Azerbaijan (Onshore and Offshore)
Type of Assignment: Contract
Contract Duration: Permanent
Work Schedule: 5 days a week based on 8 hours per day
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: 2000 azn

Mechanic duties and responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair as necessary all mechanical equipment, investigating defects and submitting reports as required.
• Maintain a preventative maintenance program in accordance with Group repair and preventative maintenance procedures as directed by immediate supervisor.
• Report on parts, tools and supplies needed to maintain the equipment for which they are responsible.
• Carry out pipe work and equipment installation tasks in accordance with good engineering practice.
• Plan maintenance and repair tasks so as to minimize the effect on the drilling operation.
• Monitor any rig equipment supplied by other contractors or sub-contractors to ensure that it is suitable for use within the areas desired.
• Report any misuse of equipment to the Maintenance Supervisor / Mechanical Engineer.
• Safeguard the rig tools and instruments in their care.
• Supply information for the completion of the Group's reporting system data sheets e.g. Maintenance / Repair / Replacement job cards.
• Supply any information required for updating of any drawings, sketches or information of existing and replacement equipment.
• Investigate and report near misses and correct them immediately.
 

Mechanic desired experience:

• Have at least 3-year experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in oil industry, especially which involve hydraulic components (This can be either transportation or manufacture)
• Have STCW, BOSIET, Medical Certificates up to date
• Know principles of work of different types of valves, pumps, compressors and other rotating equipment that are to be used in oil industry
• Have an ability to analyze through testing results of equipment
• Have an experience in preventive/predictive maintenance especially
• Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing;
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written - e-mails, project memos, reports, etc.);
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Positive attitude and good work ethic;
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
