Socar Cape joint venture working on major construction and maintenance projects both onshore and offshore. Projects include fabric maintenance on oil & gas platforms in the Caspian Sea and onshore operations in Azerbaijan and Georgia. Socar Cape is looking for a "Painting inspector" (only local candidates will be considered) with below requirements: 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Verify painting activities at specified inspection and test points as required by policy and procedures.
2. Ensure all materials incorporated into works are in accordance with the contract specifications.
3. Mark inspected items, as appropriate, identify non-conformances and advise management.
4. Shall re-inspect any rectification/repair work, shall complete daily inspection reports on the status of the work in progress within his area of responsibility.
5. Shall be responsible for correctly filling the paint inspection reports, checking the paints storage condition, identify the weak points and inform the management.
6. Provide assurance of the quality of the paint application
7. Provide unbiased reports and a third party paint inspection
8. Verify that all surfaces are in suitable conditions for painting
9.   Report all surface defects to management at the prep stage, intermediate coat and final finish
10. Notify the management of any anomalies or irregularities in the specifications
11. Surface acceptance and substrate testing for painting
12. Perform unannounced onsite inspections
13. Make typed reports on defects to management
14. Test the material for improper thinning
15. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements:

• Min 5 years’ experience in painting Inspection.
• Good Planning and organisational skills
• Perform assignments with limited supervision
• The ability to work in an honest and reliable manner
• University degree is preferred.
• Knowledge in MS Office package
• Knowledge of intermediate English
• Must have a wide knowledge and experience in relevant field.
• Internationally recognised certificate of one of below is required:
o Institute of Corrosion – Painting Inspector Level 2.
o Institute of Corrosion – Pipeline Coating Inspector Level 2.
o NACE – Coating Inspector Level 2.
o FROSIO – Coating Inspector Level 2.
o BGAS/CSWIP – Painting Inspector Grade 2.
o BGAS/CSWIP – Site and/or Mill Coatings Inspector.
