TERMS OF REFERENCE

INDIVIDUAL CONTRACTOR - TRANSLATOR

1. BACKGROUND INFORMATION

“Regional Development” Public Union (RDPU) is currently implementing the EU funded “Ensure Teacher Readiness for Inclusive Education” project. The project aims at achieving outputs in various spheres ranging from curricula and educational materials development to better inclusive education resources and national policies.

2. OBJECTIVES

The objective of the assignment is to provide RDPU with a translation service.

3. SCOPE OF WORK

The translator will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

 Make written translation and submit translation in word processed documents;
 Incorporate suggested changes to the translation;
 All texts, including texts contained in figures, boxes, captions, sources and covers require translation and proofreading;
 Ensure high quality and accuracy of the entire document before submitting it to the officer in charge of the project;
 Ensure accuracy of the terms and terminology used in the documents;
 Ensure that the translation is written with style, correct grammar and spelling;
 Complete the work within the agreed timeline and submit the final translation in both soft and hard copy.

4. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

 At least Bachelor's degree in English
 At least 5 years of professional experience in translation
 Proven skills in translation and interpretation from and into English and vice versa in the fields of education (desirably in special and inclusive education)

5. PAYMENT MODALITY

1. Standard translation counts 2200 characters without space to be one page.
2. A high quality translation without further editing of the report will be delivered by assigned timeline.
3. Payment will be made in Azerbaijani manats.
4. The rate per page paid shall be inclusive of all associated costs such as social security, pension and income tax, etc.

6. APPLICATION PROCEDURE

 A detailed CV with a cover letter.
 Financial Proposal that indicates the all-inclusive fixed total contract price, supported by a breakdown of costs.
