Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (Fixed- term until 31/01/2019)

Location: Azerbaijan

A vacancy has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer position as part of the onshore and offshore Business Unit. The
Maintenance Engineer will report to Maintenance Team Leader and will be responsible for the delivery of first class
maintenance routines associated with offshore Drilling Maintenance. Evaluating and seeking improvement
opportunities to existing preventative maintenance routines on designated clients drilling facilities to ensure that the
drilling rigs are ready for operations as planned.

Skills and Experience:

• Review the efficiency of the Client maintenance management system (CMMS). Make recommendations
for improvements of the system.
• Prepare and ensure the implementation of Planned Maintenance Routines for all new and upgraded
equipment within relevant Maintenance Management System, closing out MOC in a timely manner.
• Ensure, through rolling review, Planned Maintenance Routines are in accordance with manufacturer,
certifying authority, Group and client standards/ recommendations.
• Assist shutdown coordinators with data retrieval from the maintenance management system where
required.
• Provide technical support for rig maintenance personnel and operations within the business unit.
• Produce minor modification workpacks and close-out documentation where required.
• Conduct periodic rig project / maintenance visits as required.
• Assist where necessary onshore equipment repairs in relation to project/ shutdown work.
• Focal point for implementation and upkeep of maintenance management system.
• Assist in control of Well Control Equipment within Business Unit.
• Identify and provide support for the training of offshore maintenance, marine and operational personnel
within the appropriate operations in order to fulfil operational and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Provide assistance to rig maintenance staff in resolving deficiencies identified during regulatory/ statutory
body inspections and/or Group/ Client audits, and liaise with support functions to ensure effective and
timely solutions.
• Assist in both audit and inspection functions on the offshore units to ensure the continued effectiveness of
the Safety Management Systems.
• Conduct technical appraisals and reviewing studies on rig related equipment and systems, within their
discipline area, to determine safety, operational and cost impacts of utilisation within the drilling fleet.
• Carry out equipment trending or report analysis.
• Inclusion in the major operational failure processes.
• Support MTL in general maintenance requests.

Requirements:

• In depth knowledge and experience of operation and maintenance of automated 5th Generation Cyber
rigs.
• In depth knowledge of European and American Classification standards and Regulations.
• In depth knowledge of theory and practice of planned maintenance systems.
• In depth knowledge of Western safety standards and systems.
• In depth knowledge of KCA Deutag processes/procedures and standards.
