Job Title: Electrical Project Engineer
Duties & Responsibilities:
Include, but are not limited to the following:
To prepare design and engineering deliverables including drafting works, survey reports, task risk assessment, method statements, as-built drawings etc.
To develop engineering projects analysis to include preliminary design, calculations, budget analysis, life cycle costs plus equipment selection
To take part in cost estimation analysis during preparation of bid proposals;
To check deliverables prepared by other technical personnel, taking part in Electrical surveys, inspection, liaison with client technical personnel on technical requirements
To conduct survey, report on existing electrical installations and identify customer requirements
To provide electrical design details for new and refurbishment projects
Interpreting design specifications and technical drawings
To prepare status reports during execution phase of the project
To develop and prepare detailed electrical engineering and construction installation documents and provide engineering support during all phases of project to management and field installation employees
Carry out Technical reviews of all Tender bids from PSCM and advise accordingly
To keep interface with Procurement department to coordinate all related issues
Ensure Project is in compliance with BP MOC process
Ensure all GOC certification is completed satisfactorily and included in all MC1 packs
Co-ordinate & liaise with suppliers, client, in-house functions, site installations and construction teams;
Create a clear execution installation plan, including planning job task labor, and material deliveries;
Providing technical expertise and guidance to design, installation and commissioning stages on BP Electrical HV, MV and LV projects
To Lead Electrical team and train junior Electrical Engineers
Education/Experience and Qualification:
High school diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the relevant field
Experience in CAT C projects
Strong computer skills (AutoCad, Microsoft Office)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to think methodically, to design, plan and manage the work
Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities
Ability to make contacts and develop effective working relationships within and outside the department.
