Azerbaijan Tourism Board (Milli Turizm Təbliğat Bürosu) is a newly established entity under the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and is responsible for the enhancement of destination value and for the creation of a unique portrait for the country. Azerbaijan Tourism Board is making extensive efforts to ensure successful tourism development; marketing and promoting the tourism potential of the destination.

We are looking for an experienced Statistical Research Specialist.

Responsibilities:

• To respond to requests for information in tourism statistics to the Tourism Research & Statistics Division
• To conduct analyses of tourism statistics and research in cooperation with other divisions of the State Tourism Agency, Azerbaijan Tourism Board and publish corresponding reports within and outside of the organisation
• To help collate tourism statistics and to support other partners involved in statistical tourism research
• To supervise the continuous updating and refining of information in tourism statistics stored within the Tourism Research & Statistics Division, including file maintenance, database and spreadsheet management
• To supervise updating information on the State Tourism Agency and Azerbaijan Tourism Board websites
• To help prepare statistical material for marketing, PR and promotion and where appropriate, to support the production of marketing or promotional publications

Requirements:

• Good general level of education, including English and Statistics at tertiary education level, or demonstrably equivalent abilities and good English oral and written communication skills
• Experience of working within an empirical research environment and ability to use information technology and related systems (e.g. R, Excel, statistical software packages).
• Understanding of Data Protection legislation and Freedom of Information legislation
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
