Summer Internship Program for 2018
SOCAR UPSTREAM MANAGEMENT INTERNATIONAL LLC (SOCAR Upstream) was established in order to improve efficiency and quality of operations under the relevant projects, as well as to avoid duplications and creating centralized reporting system, SOCAR Upstream has been entrusted with operating and managing Shah Deniz and Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli Projects on behalf of SOCAR’s relevant Affiliates participating thereof.
SOCAR Upstream’s functions include as well assisting SOCAR’s production and exploration segment’s development by way of providing advices on drilling, engineering and subsurface matters, preparing economic models etc.
Engagement of different onshore projects has provided to SOCAR Upstream an opportunity to demonstrate completely different approach that SOCAR’s above mentioned affiliates used to outlay. In order to implement the relevant activities required for overseeing and control of petroleum projects operated by foreign oil companies (Operators), SOCAR Upstream, on behalf of SOCAR affiliates carries out technical and commercial evaluation of operations held by Operating Companies without prejudice to SOCAR's rights and obligations under the relevant Production Sharing Agreements and the competence of the relevant departments and structural units of SOCAR.
SOCAR Upstream together with Operating Companies uses its best endeavours in order to contribute in full-field development of petroleum reserves in the relevant fields and optimizing the production of recoverable hydrocarbons.
One of the main features of SOCAR Upstream is to make relevant researches in application of the new technologies in Onshore Projects which might help to produce more efficiently and in new ways.
SOCAR Upstream’s relevant teams performs resource assessments estimate total quantities in known and yet-to-be discovered accumulations that can potentially be recovered and marketed by commercial projects. A petroleum resources management system provided by SOCAR Upstream is a consistent approach to estimating petroleum quantities, evaluating development projects, and presenting results within a comprehensive classification framework.
Morover, SOCAR Upstream deals with economic analysis of oil and gas upstream capital projects, which includes calculating main economic indicators, making qualitative-quantitative risk assessment and sensitivity analysis to help top management choose best options to proceed with. Updating outstanding project economic models, analyzing periodical financial performance of projects’ annual work program and budgets, preparing relevant economic forecasts are part of SOCAR Upstream’s duties as well.

SOCAR Upstream Management International LLC (SUMI) is pleased to announce its Summer Internship Program for 2018.
During this program students will be able to go through a full-time internship within several technical departments of SUMI. Internship is available for Year 3&4 students with 3.5 GPA and excellent language skills (Azerbaijani, English and Russian (desirable).
Please note that only current students of Baku High Oil School and Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry are eligible for internship.

The successful candidate should demonstrate commitment to team work and the ability to work well with others, maintain the highest standards of accuracy, precision and discretion and ability to work under pressure.
