Human Resources Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Workforce Planning and Employment
o Implementing the organization’s recruiting strategy
o Interviewing applicants
o Administering pre-employment tests
o Assisting with completing background investigations
o Processing transfers, promotions, and terminations
• HR Development
o Conducting training sessions
o Administering on-the-job training programs
o Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs
o Maintaining records of employee participation in all training and development programs
o Build and distribute custom 360 evaluations using Qualtrics 360 tool
o Review existing competency structure and increase competency library where gaps may exist
o Support in the execution of a High Potential program
o Help in the setup, execution, and post-event analysis of all training sessions and employee events
o Assist in the implementation of a new Learning Management System
o Researching external training programs and vendor options, conducting due diligence and selection where appropriate

o Writing job descriptions
o Performing job evaluations and job analyses
o Conducting and analyzing compensation surveys
• Employee and Labor Relations (union environments)
o Interpreting union contracts
o Helping to negotiate collective bargaining agreements
o Resolving grievances
o Advising supervisors on union contract interpretation
• Employee and Labor Relations (non-union environments)
o Assisting with processing employee grievances
o Overseeing engagement programs and other employee relations work
o Help managers develop their team members through career pathing
o Evaluate individual and organizational development needs
o Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities

REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HR Specialist
• Bachelors’ Degree or higher in Human Resources preferred and/or related experience
• Solid understanding of labor legislation and payroll process
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good problem-solving abilities
• Team management skills
• Proficient in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
• Ability to use SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), PEST (Political, Economic, Social and Technological) and other analysis methods;
• Ability to motivate others to express their thoughts or behaviors;
• Ability to use a foreign language at professional level (English, Russian);
