Stress & Supports Engineer

Job Description:

• Advise directions and plans associated with Piping / Equipment Layout issues as related to pipe stress analysis issues
• Perform Stress Analysis calculations, including systems static and dynamic analysis, and prepare reports.
• Select type of piping supports to adequately support involved systems.
• Generate special pipe supports and verify their adequacy for involved systems.
• Provide assistance and advise on the design of non-standard type pipe supports.
• Prepare deliverables for engineering design like pipe support list, special pipe items and support drawings, plate sand attachments on vessel for pipe supports, material requisition for spring hangers/shock absorbers/expansion joints/special struts/sliding pads, etc.
• Co-ordinate and be the focal point to manage issues between Company’s Engineering Disciplines and Vendors in relation to imposed piping loadings.
• Review Vendor package and equipment drawings for compliance with the project specifications.
• Generate Specifications and Standards, Design Instructions associated with Piping Engineering.
• Assist Lead Piping Engineer for deliverables preparation in areas related to Piping Stress Engineering
• Prepare technical bid tabulation of Vendor supplied items
• Review/approve Vendor drawings of spring hangers, snubbers, flexible joints and rollers
• Participate in plants 3D model reviews.
• Be assigned to specific tasks in piping engineering, as required by the projects scope

Skills & Requirements:

• 10-15 years of relevant experience in reputable E&C Companies, serving to O&G industry in preferably Refining and/or Petrochemicals business.
• Good knowledge and experience in detailed engineering areas of facilities design for brownfield and revamp projects.
• Demonstrate leadership and capacity to operate under tight schedules and project criticalities.
• Experience in analyzing piping systems to ANSI/ASME Codes in relation to Piping Stress Analysis.
• Awareness of Local, National and International Standards, as applied to Pipe Stress Analysis.
• Competent with commercial software, CAESAR II. Knowledge of commercial software, NozzlePro is an added value.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles on piping flexibility and relevant study methodologies.
• Ability to specify data for the selection and purchase of springs, bellows, slide joints and cold supports.
• Previous experience of planning and scheduling for piping stress activities.
• Demonstrated capability to generate and develop based on initial design data, the engineering of Critical Piping Systems.
• Ability to undertake leadership responsibilities.
• Attitude to work collaboratively in a multinational team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English.
