“PASHA Bank” OJSC is seeking a Senior Legal Advisor for its Legal Department.
ABOUT BANK
PASHA Bank is one of Azerbaijan’s leading corporate banks. Established in 2007, we offer all major financial services, including investment banking, trade financing and asset management to a range of clients, from large corporates to small and medium enterprises. The Bank works particularly closely with companies operating in the non-oil sectors of the economy, including agriculture, transportation, construction and retail, which are vital for helping Azerbaijan to diversify its economy.
MAIN ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Legal review of the Bank’s internal rules, policies and procedures
• Legal review of Bank’s agreements with correspondent banks, its creditors, state financing funds
• Drafting legal opinions to support Bank’s relations with correspondent banks and creditors and coordination of relations with external legal advisors
• Legal support of HR Department
• Provision of required legal support for the registration, licensing and activity of the Bank’s subsidiaries, representative offices, branches and divisions in Azerbaijan and abroad
• Legal review of agreements with third parties
• Prepare template agreements for new banking products and services
• Work on Bank projects as assigned by the Director of Department
• Preparing memorandums based on queries from the business on legal issues
• Conducting specific legal trainings for the non-legal staff of the Bank, providing consultations within the area of competence
• Guidance, continuous coaching and development of the junior staff
• Effective handling of legal issues occurring during Bank’s core business activities
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as lawyer and minimum 2 years’ experience as a banking lawyer; Experience in financial institutions or international companies is an advantage
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor in Law, Masters in Commercial Law or Civil law, foreign education would be an advantage.
SKILLS
• Good written and verbal communication skills, in particular report writing and delivery, – fluency in English is essential;
• Analytical skills;
• Attention to detail;
• Logical reasoning;
• Time management;
• Working under pressure;
• Fluent in English and Russian. Fluency in Azerbaijani is a must;
