Job title: Painting/Blasting Engineer/Estimator

Experience:
 
Minimum of 8 year experience in painting & blasting

General requirements

• Good communications skills
• Technical knowledge/background to support to the client
• Review and evaluate cost estimates
• Prepare estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products
• Ensure timely completion of estimates
• Understand scope of work to bid
• Manage bid pricing from all vendors
• Prepare cost analysis
• Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors
• Risk and safety management systems knowledge
• Face fit testing
• Supervises painting/blasting activities/drawings
• Provides technical expertise and advice in relation to painting/blasting/drawings
• Ensures that plant and equipment is maintained on a regular and daily basis throughout the work scope duration
• Delivers a high standard of work on project completion
• Conducts inductions to Company’s green hats
• Attends at various meetings
• Be actively involved and contribute to completing an onsite risk assessment that identifies additional risks or hazards involved in the work scope prior to work commencing.
• Ensures that works under the correct valid permits and the associated paper work is in place prior to work commencing
• Follows controls including PPE requirements from COSHH assessments
• Be actively involved in the onsite daily toolbox talk confirms that understands what the work scope involves and be aware if there any changes to the work or worksite.
• Ensures all equipment has been fully safety checked prior to use
