Roles & Responsibilities:
This is a full Area Responsible Engineer position covering 2 Stations units (offshore). The Area Responsible Engineer position is within the Operations team. The position will be based in Baku, Azerbaijan on an Onshore contract of minimum 40 hrs working per week with frequent trips to the dedicated offshore stations in Azerbaijan. The post will report directly to the Operation Manager. The Area Responsible Engineer role will be demanding and challenging and therefore requires an individual who has strong interpersonal skills, is self motivated, able to work with minimum supervision, has a skill set that will enable and drive team development, and is capable of working within a team to deliver continuous improvements to the Offshore Maintenance processes in commissioning and production modes. ARE has responsibility for the development and execution of the maintenance strategy, providing technical support for the SOLAR Turbines Machinery Healthcare and support of Engineering Support Team with respect to Machinery and Process application, condition monitoring, repair and failure analysing.
Skills required:
• Capacity to understand a wide range of engineering functions and procedures;
• To build up and maintain proper communication and relationship with customer (including higher level management).
• To develop and implement all necessary policies and procedures to ensure all operation and maintenance functions achieve their business objectives, and that a safe and healthy working environment is maintained in dedicated responsible area.
• Contributes & reviews the data in the CMMS & SAP
• Makes recommendations about the types of data and the amount of data being collected
• Leads root cause failure analysis.
• To establish and maintain controls and documentation i.e. to ensure documentation of decisions, actions, drawings, process etc. are up to date.
• Conduct site visits and equipment performance benchmarking surveys at customer sites, arrange all installation and commissioning activities and lead a team to execute projects at customer sites if required.
• Provide customers with progress updates on a regular basis or as required by customer.
• Set up and control a technical action tracker for customer’s equipment issues holding weekly, monthly& KPI meetings
• Support to identify engineering upgrade, rotating equipment and advance part procurement.
• Mentoring and coaching junior personnel as per requirement.
• Consults at a technical level with Operation support team concerning equipment or work-related problems.
Key accountabilities
Typical Senior engineering roles involve leading of various process operations and maintenance jobs such as mechanics, electricians, instruments and production technicians.
Essential criteria & qualifications
• Azerbaijani Citizenship.
• High technical education.
• At least 5 years’ experience in senior position on oil & gas related projects.
• English language skills.
• Travel required Monthly offshore trips required
