Duties & Responsibilities

Supports the SSP-Baku Engineering Manager with the day to day activities in the engineering department which include, but is not limited to; developing IMR sub-sea execution procedures; Task Risk Assessments; assist with the design, manufacturing, and testing components, products and systems. Must have experience in leading projects from Initiating phase to Closing phase with minimal supervision. Must have experience executing projects offshore on installations or marine vessels performing Inspection, maintenance, and repair scopes of work.
The candidate will also handle the following duties personally:
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
 
• Oversees activities to design new products and techniques, modify existing designs and techniques, improve installation techniques and develop test procedures.
• Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies or concepts.
• Analyzes installation technology trends that meet and/or exceed the industry standards, and market demand to design installation engineering.
• Confers with management to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products and techniques.
• Advises management of new developments, which may affect schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
• Provides direction and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities.
• Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies, which may improve operations and develops recommendations accordingly.
• Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage all personnel assigned by the Engineering Manager to assist with the engineering attributes of the department.  Will be responsible for the overall coordination of the assigned personnel.  Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Willing to work after hours and week ends when needed. Willing to work offshore to assist with the execution of project scopes of work.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience  

Bachelor’s degree (B.A) in engineering from four-year college or university; and four years related experience within the oil and gas environments working on-shore and offshore in support IMR projects.
 
Language Skills

Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
 
Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
 
Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Ability to take data sets from experimental and real world experiences and make decisions. Use such data to show statistical coordination.
 
Computer Skills                           

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have complete knowledge of Agile, Orcina, Orcaflex, Risa 3D, Offpipe, MS Explorer Internet software, MS Project Management software,  Microsoft Word, and Excel.
