Title: Accounting / finance controller
About the position
The controller will report to the Project manager. The position has to manage the complete aspects of accounting, tax, reporting and settlements processes. The candidate will have an in-depth experience in the lending sector ideally.
Scope:
(1) Financial Accounting
- Develop accounting policies and business processes and procedures for the business;
- Review and provide feedback on other business processes;
- Map accounting flows for each major business process;
- Ensure data integrity and completeness for accounting purposes;
- Ensure proper reconciliations, check and error detection procedures are in place
(2) Tax accounting
- Ensure timely filing and submission of tax reports to tax authorities by pre-determined deadlines;
- Perform regular reviews (at appropriate circumstances by involving a professional tax advisor) to identify tax and statutory reporting risks and suggest solutions;
(3) Reporting, analysis and performance management
- Prepare management accounts (P&L, cash flow statement, balance sheet) for each reporting period
- Prepare daily management reports
- Collaborate to prepare business analytics reports
- Analyze different aspects of operations and optimize costs and revenues
- Measure the company performance with respect to targets and suggest correction actions
(4) Budgeting
- Prepare, in cooperation with all business units, annual and periodic budgets
- Prepare five-year business plans
- Build control system over budgetary spending
- Exercise control over payments from budget point of view
Requirements
Education:
University education in finance, accounting and/or other related business disciplines; International certification is an advantage.
Work experience:
Minimum 5 years of work experience and minimum 2 years of work experience in a related position is required.
IT skills:
a) Good workable knowledge of MS Office programs (Excel, Word)
b) Experience with one of ERP programs (1C, SAP, Oracle, Navision, Sun Systems etc.) will be preferred
