Role synopsis

In order to support ongoing work in the region, PD&MS Group are looking for an Offshore Construction Supervisor to join the team based in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Candidates should have previous offshore experience in the oil and gas industry and have a proven background in offshore construction. Additionally, experience of drilling facilities and equipment is essential.
The role is to take responsibility for the supervision, coordination and management of project deliverables.  Deliverables will relate to modification, maintenance and upgrade scopes of work and range from conceptual stage through to implementation and close out.  The OCS shall demonstrate a strong safety leadership of the projects relating to the facility assigned to them, and actively manage each scope to deliver in a timely manner. The OCS shall lead and manage all relevant  personnel to ensure all interested parties are kept informed of progress, issues and plans, including SHE Advisor, Planners (onshore & offshore).

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with Company and Client QMS, SMS and Environmental Policies, Management Systems and required documentation
• Project execution, as building and work pack sign off
• Inspection and release of  project work scope to client’s representatives
• Show a clear leadership by demonstrating a high level of personal safety commitment
• Communicate clearly the safety expectations of all individuals
• Promote and encourage a culture to STOP the job if there are any safety concerns or doubts
•  Hold pre-shift brief with all members of work parties including third party vendors
• Attend and conduct tool box talk on a daily basis
• Coordinate with client representative, any third parties and vendors, ensuring SIMOPS are addressed
• Plan and coordinate up and coming work in the short and long term future
• Support area authority in the delivery of their duties
• Formulate PTW, assist LOLER rep with lift plans and AA with isolation scopes
• Active management and control of work in progress
• Driving improvements to  project and relevant documentation where possible
• Preparation and implementation of site queries including close out coordination with onshore engineering
• Liaise with client focal points and department heads Offshore
• Liaise with Construction Coordinator & PRP on a daily basis in relation to safety and project deliverables
Manage and lead site safety meetings

Essential qualifications and experience

• Minimum of trade papers City & Guild or equivalent NVQ level 3
• IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
• GoC Foundation Training
• Drilling Facilities experience
• Previous supervisory experience and hands on experience working offshore in an engineering, construction engineering or maintenance environment
• A reasonable understanding of all disciplines likely to be encountered
• Knowledge of construction engineering requirements and practices
• Proficiency with MS Office and other Software packages

• Offshore medical
• MIST
