Job Title:  Cathodic Protection Technician

Project: South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion

Work location: Camps in Kurdamir, Goranboy and Aghstafa regions

Reports to:  Cathodic Protection Coordinator

Responsibilities of CP Technician include;

• Transformer Rectifier Unit Tests; Calibration, Functional testing
• Transformer Rectifier Unit Checks; Visual inspection, Connection verifications, Calibration, Functional testing
• Check For Sacrificial Solid Anodes; Visual checks, Potential measurements, Current measurements, Support location check, Anode continuity with steel support
• Check For Sacrificial Ribbon Anodes; Visual checks, Potential measurements, Current measurements, Location check
• Junction Boxes And Test Points Checks; Visual checks, Cable identification, Check of installation in accordance of JB /TP safety execution, Check of identification Tags
• Checks For Reference Electrodes And Coupon Polarization Probes; Visual checks, Cable identification, Potential measurements respect portable electrodes,
• CP Cable Installation Checks; Visual checks, Cable resistance, Cable connection to structure check, Check of coating repair at cable connection to structure, Cable connection to JB/TP or muffle check
• Zinc Electrode, Earthing Mat And Copper Rod; Visual checks, Cable identification, Connection check, Functional tests

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cathodic Protection Technician
• Should familiar with below mentioned standarts:
 ASTM B418 Cast and Wrought Zinc Anodes
 ASTM G57 Standard Test Method for Field Measurement of Soil Resistivity Using the Wenner Four-Electrode Method
 BSI, BS 7361: Part 1 Cathodic Protection, Part 1, Code of Practice for Land and Marine Applications
 General principles and application for pipelines
 ISO 15589-1 Petroleum and natural gas industries – Cathodic protection of pipeline transportation systems – Part 1: On-land pipelines
 NACE RP0104 The Use of Coupons for Cathodic Protection Application
 NACE SP0169 Control of External Corrosion of Underground or Submerged Metallic Piping Systems
• NACE SP0286 The Electrical Isolation of Cathodically Protected Pipelines
• Good practical skills
• Fluent English and Azerbaijani language
• Candidates have professional experience within BP projects will be preffered.
