Service Supervisor III-Cementing

Job Roles:

• Sets-up and runs assigned Cement PSL equipment related to monitoring and acquiring job data and for accurate mixing of cement slurries in the performance of a cementing job.
• Downloads Controller and/or performs real-time report generation of job data using the appropriate computer system
• Supervises successful, efficient, and professional delivery of products and services
• Solicits pertinent service work information from the customer and ensures all necessary personnel have the same information to work from
• Promotes good customer relations at the well-site
• Negotiates effectively with customers concerning invoicing issues and service irregularities within approved limits
• Demonstrates a customer service focus to assure good job results
• Communicates to customer and HES personnel knowledge of resources within the company who can offer expertise to specific products, processes, or services
• Capitalizes on sales opportunities and relays information to Technical Advisor or appropriate person for follow-up
• Performs location tests and Interprets their results to determine integrity of the equipment for use in service applications such as high pressure pumps, pump manifolding, wellhead equipment (heads, swages, etc.), and discharge iron.
• Mentors and monitors service operators and operator assistants in the proper performance of pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and associated paperwork/reports
• Supervises, coordinates, and educates service supervisors, service operators and operator assistants in the operation of cement pumping and mixed equipment, blenders, liquid additive metering systems, centrifugal pumps, data acquisition systems, Opticem RT, Real time transmission, ADC systems, bulk cement blending, delivery, and storage systems, manfolding equipment, and cementing plug releasing tools
• Demonstrates level 3 knowledge of products such as cementing blends, spacer fluid systems, sodium silicate fluid system, loss circulation additives, casing attachments, float equipment, multiple stage cementing tools, and squeeze packers
• Operate and utilize equipment related to the use of compressible fluids (nitrogen, etc.)
• Perform pre-job calculations related to:
o Pipe capacities and volume/height math
o Plug landing pressures
o Absolute volumes, including total water requirements for job
o Hydrostatic and differential pressure
o Resulting forces
o Balanced plugs
o Bulk cement blending, weighted spacers calculations, may include liquid additives
o Pressure to reverse
o Determine burst and collapse
o Flex Plug process
o Zone Seal Process
• Requires supervision when performing specialized products processes unless deemed competent by formal documented competency process
• Completes documents, reports, and forms that affect the financial results of the business unit
• Coordinates and supervises the activities during rigging-up and rigging-down of service equipment on work locations to include spotting of cement storage vessels, pre-mixing of spacer fluids, identifying additives to be mixed on-the-fly, rigging-up appropriate data monitoring equipment, planning emergency backup equipment and contingencies
• Communicates level 3 knowledge of cement blends, mixing and blending processes, and casing sales equipment
• Communicates pre-job and on-the-job progress to customer
• Utilizes HMS and CPI processes
• Documents job results and Customer satisfaction using EJCS and KPI processes
• Handles, transports, and stores materials utilized at the job site in accordance with company, regulatory, and customer standards
• Provides services of another PSL such as Service Tool Operations and Acidizing Services (must update competency as required and remain active in providing services in this area when requested)
• Runs all cementing related equipment in the natural work area (must update competency as required and remain active in providing services in this area when requested)
• Manages cost in area of influence
• Relieves Service Leader/Service Coordinator as required

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

• Completion of high school or similar education
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as Svc Supv-CMT, II which includes experience in operating tools per customer requirements

Role Specific Knowledge

Skilled at planning and organizing all local job types within 2 or more PSLs. Actively pursues self development including training required for Service Leader or additional PSL. Sets high performance standards for team providing strong coaching and mentoring to enable crew and team to accomplish set standards and goals. Develops crew performance and experience levels through various development options. May include PPR reviews. May take on leadership responsibilities for other crews. Controls conflicts in positive and professional manner. Ability to influence both team and customer. Good decision making skills under adverse conditions. Ability to communicate with team and customer to affect knowledge transfer related to job plans, calculations (including zone seal and flex plug), lab test data and Opticem out put, specific hazards, environmental issues, quality service, equipment, etc related to the job. Able to evaluate and communicate critical information which may include crane lift capabilities, hazardous zone requirements, environmental restrictions (eg zero discharge), health and safety (H2S etc), on remote and/or offshore sites including demobilization of more complex jobs such as Zone seal/Flex Plug or Water. Verify that the cement, chemicals and equipment are correct to the cement design and well plan and ensure that there is sufficient stock to cover contingencies, and ensure not shortages or damages. May include multi PSL equipment and materials. While meeting with customer to discuss current operations, identifies future sales opportunities and communicates to appropriate person or team with ESG for follow up. Discuss and resolve HSE and quality issues related to the job with customer rep on location and inform HES Service Center. Customer follow up to ensure closure of action item(s) as required. Math and computer skills. Commitment to company and customer safety performance. Demonstrates correct use of the Red Book. Route planning, map reading, time consideration, and potential transportation hazard awareness. Ability to discuss future work opportunities with customer. Proficient in operating all cementing equipment assigned to local area. Must be proficient and active in providing services when requested in at least one other PSL service In GOM, those employees working in Land Division may be required to maintain a CDL license.
