Senior Logistics Specialist

Job responsibilities:

• Ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time, to the required quality and in the most cost-effective way. This will require understanding and overseeing the complete end to end supply chain in order to monitor the storage and global distribution of goods between various suppliers, manufacturing facilities, warehousing and end client destinations as well as coordination with local material and procurement groups.
• Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with key stakeholders, suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers.
• Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance
• Ensure compliance with local and international import/export regulations, customs regulations and legal health and safety requirements for product transit or delivery
• Deliver solutions to logistics problems whilst maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements
• Negotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providers whilst monitoring service against performance criteria
• Recommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequency, resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues

Job requirements:

• Proven working experience of handling movements globally by road, rail, sea and air, including freight imports, exports and working knowledge of Incoterms
• Understanding and experience of tariffs, duties, local regulations, safety requirements, documentation, packaging and labelling.
• Ability to work independently, challenge the norm and look for new ways of doing things in a constructive way whilst handling multiple projects through to completion
• Excellent stakeholder and influencing skills – able to build effective relationships internally and externally
• Outstanding communication, analytical problem-solving and organizational abilities
• Ability to interact confidently with colleagues, customers and suppliers
• Experience working for electronics and/or a device manufacturing company
• BSc/BA in business administration, supply chain management, related field or relevant experience
• Strong English and Azeri languages, knowledge of Russian is the benefit.
• SAP knowledge and the previous experience with the process for import / export permission of highly controlled items (radio sources etc.) are the benefit.
