MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To provide mechanical systems integrity and assessment support for pressure containing systems including all pressure vessels, topsides/onshore piping and associated valves and fittings.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Ensure Regulatory and client standard compliance
• Responsible for the creation/continuous improvements of Oceaneering Inspection standards for discipline
• Accountable for periodic audit of discipline activity against Oceaneering and Client Inspection standards
• Provide support for staff development, competency reviews, and coaching within project team
• Support the Operations Manager/Technical Manager in the delivery of the pressure systems IIM scope/service
• Assist with the review and completion of Inspection queries and Remedial orders
• Attend daily integrity meetings where requested and review the Offshore/landsite Inspection Engineer’s daily report.  Provide advice where required
• Carry out of Fitness-For-service assessments of defects and deterioration of “in service” pressure systems and components and quality check and approve other engineers assessments. Provide recommendations and/or mitigating measures to ensure continued safe operation of the plant, and equipment
• Assist in the review and assessment of proposed repairs to ensure compliance with remedial orders
• Comment on component specifications and engineering deviations/concessions
• Assist in formal risk assessments where necessary, for extending remedial order completion dates and also planned inspections
• Review any changes of operating condition and loading against design conditions and intent. Assess any reported pressure excursion from the design envelope, issue instructions for additional inspection, guidance or recommendations as appropriate to ensure the integrity of the system is not compromised
• Review and provide comments/recommendations on proposed modifications/alterations to plant or components against overall system integrity assurance and compliance with standards taking due cognisance of current corrosion/erosion strategy.  Liaise with specialist contractor where necessary
• Monitor inspection/corrosion activities and review/endorse inspection strategies
• Develop (where appropriate) and maintain pressure systems documentation

General

• The list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the post holder will be required to undertake tasks that may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post
• Assist with any other duties as and when required
• Undertake specific projects as instructed by management

• Promote a strong HSE culture at all times
• Ensure that personnel identify with and achieve, the necessary Health and Safety performance standards associated with the relative risks to personnel and plant in their environment and daily work
• Ensure that business and HSE risk implications of integrity issues are clearly identified and assessed for consideration within the Oceaneering Integrity Management Team and communicated to the Client

Other

• Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems
• Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company
• Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment 

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING:

E – Essential, P - Preferred

• Degree qualified in an Engineering related discipline (E)
• Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer status accreditation with the Engineering Council (E)

EXPERIENCE (WORK):

• Minimum 10 years engineering design/operations experience related to oil and gas industry
• Detailed understanding of defect analysis for pressure process equipment and criticality principles (E)
• Ability to work independently with a range of problems often under time restrictions (E)
• Self motivator and good communicator
• Must be familiar with QA/QC systems and procedures (E)
• Ability to solve problems by applying sound reasoning (E)
• Ability to write accurate and concise reports (E)
• Ability to communicate effectively (E)

EXPERIENCE (SOFTWARE):

• Microsoft Office (E)
• ACET or equivalent (E). If no previous experience, training must be completed in a timely manner
