Rope Access Level 3 Supervisor

THE KEY ROLE

• Capable of site supervision for rope access work.
• Demonstrate the skills and knowledge of levels 1, 2 and 3.
• Conversant with relevant work techniques and current legislation.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of advanced rescue techniques.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the current Irata ICOP, General Requirements and Irata certification scheme.

WORKSITE PLANNING

• Conduct Toolbox Talks on a daily basis and recorded it.

• Carry out site specific risk assessment which has been reviewed by all those involved in the task.

• Ensure that you support the Project Manager/Site supervisor or Service team leader to complete site specific risk assessment before the job commences.

• Ensure that for each rope access task, you have designed and recorded a rescue plan on form CMS F R4 437 (issue 4) and that this has been signed off and fully communicated to all members of the team and or, other stakeholders prior to work commencing.

• Support the Project Manager/Site supervisor or Service team leader to prepare a method statement which must be designed, delivered and approved and that the process for executing the rope access task is understood by all those involved.

• Ensure whenever possible that you have you have rigged for rescue and that you have suitable and sufficient rescue equipment on site to execute a rescue if required at anytime.

• Ensure you have a safe system of work and that a WCC (Work Control Certificate) has been issue and authorised and that all involved in the task have signed on to it and are adhering to it.

• Ensure that both you and your team are carrying your Irata log books at all times.

• Ensure you are fully aware and comply with the safety requirements drawn from Safety Bulletin.
• Ensure that you comply with decision making tree on edge mitigation illustrated in Annex P of the 2013 Irata ICOP.

• Actively participate in planning and platform operational meetings.

• You must have access to the most current IRATA International Code of Practice (ICOP) and General Requirements and be familiar with its contents to support your role.

• You must report to the Project Manager/Site supervisor or Service team leader to gain access to or have visibility over supporting procedures related to your task.

• You must ensure that all rope access equipment shall be routinely inspected for signs of wear/damage.

• And that Rope Access equipment found to be out of certification or defective shall be immediately quarantined and the appropriate paperwork completed before be shipped back to shore/site.
• You shall ensure that no rope access equipment will be used without you first having full sight of the thorough examination certificates to check that the equipment safe to use and in date.

• You shall ensure that on the completion of the task that all rope access equipment is stripped and cleaned and manifested the correct numbered bags.

• You must inform the Project Manager/Site supervisor or Service team leader in good time, when the rope access equipment is expiring so that preparations could be made to have it change out by competent inspectors.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 2 years  experience in Rope Access Supervisor position
• You must hold an IRATA Level 3 qualification.
• You must have completed a minimum of 2 offshore trips before deemed as ‘Team Leader’
• Have an In date BOSIET certificate Have In date UKOOA Medical.
• Have completed MIST evaluation course. Hold a valid in date First Aid certificate.
