Position: ASSOCIATE DEAN

SCHOOL OF PUBLIC AND INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take a lead under the supervision of the Dean in administering SPIA both academically and logistically;
• Oversee the quality assurance process for the degree programs – are students learning what they are intended to learn?
• Oversee student advising;
• Oversee the accreditation process for the SPIA programs;
• Serve as a top member of the executive team and communication link to the faculty and assist with problem solving as it relates to faculty and student issues;
• Promote, encourage, and support faculty development, excellence and innovative teaching;
• Supervise budget development, fiscal monitoring and other related administrative activities;
• Teach 3 courses per year at SPIA;
• Play a comprehensive role in institutional activities and to represent and promote the interests of SPIA;
• Serve on school and university-wide committees and work with the other units of ADA University in a cooperative environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• A Ph.D. in International Relations, Public Administration or other related fields;
• A teaching experience and progressively responsible administrative and management experience in planning, management, and supervision of curriculum and instruction;
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
• Sensitivity to and acceptance of diverse cultures and individuals.
