Position Summary:

Under direction is responsible for the company's accounting functions in operating country including the development and maintenance of the accounting principles, practices, procedures and other initiatives. Manages the preparation of related financial reporting and statements and closely works with operations personnel.     

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Directs the general accounting and finance function. Delegates the normal closing and reporting activities to subordinates. Reviews adjustments, tax provisions,  intercompany accruals and other more complicated entries for adherence to local GAAP and US GAAP.
- Reviews P&L, balance sheet, budget, forecasts, cash management, and other reporting for local statutory, tax and GAAP purposes
- Responsible for corporate reporting packages in Houston for financial and tax purposes, including the preparation of commentary on observations for "Flash", and other reports for executive management.
- Participates in global management conference calls to review financials and issues.
- Closely works with Country Manager to accurately report operations in local country.
- Oversees cash management activity.
- Oversees accounts payable, accounts receiveable, and payroll functions.
- Handles related contacts with customers and vendors as necessary
- Ensures that field reporting is reasonable, complete and accurate.
- Resolves complex ledger problems. Ensures that accounting procedures, processes and structures are properly setup and followed in accordance with SOX controls, and that local personnel are properly trained in related systems applications.
Oversees the activities of outsourced providers such as auditors, consultants, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
- Oversees the administration of international taxes, transfer pricing issues, and calculation of  deferred tax liabilities in accordance with US GAAP and local GAAP.
- Adheres to Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)
- Be an active participant in the crew HSEQ program and active in daily tail gate meetings.
- Must abide by and enforce all Geokinetics policies including but not limited to HSEQ, Drug & Alcohol, Operational Policies, IAGC, OGP, Client, Local and State Governmental Policies.
- Responsible for all aspects of health, safety and environmental concerns in the particular work area. Demonstrate safe work practices.
- Reporting in accordance with client and Geokinetics policy on the required aspects of the acquisition.
- Request Technical, Safety and Quality Training if needed and attend the same as required by management.
- Required to assist as needed in any capacity on any department on the crew, at the discretion of the Party Manager, Project Manager.
- Define the procedures or work instructions to be followed during any specific prospect and in case of any missing ones they should be implemented.

Education & Experience:

- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance.
- Prefer a CPA.
- Requires 10 to 15years of accounting experience, including local and international accounting.  Big 4 accounting experience preferred.
- Reporting experience with 5 of those years in management.
Experience in Land, TZ, OBC and OBN project.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

- Basic understanding of Oracle and Hyperion financial systems preferred
- Basic knowledge of local taxation
- Working experience in seismic industry preferred
- Proficiency with PC and MS Office

Bilingual English/local language.

- Seismic work is highly risky. Working environment may be in normal office conditions or open areas exposed to weather. Seismic work is conducted in a variety of environments, including swamps, snow, steep mountains, jungles, and deserts. It employs explosives, boats, helicopters, and other vehicles. The QHSE manager ensures and reviews that each crew and project has the specific hazard register for the work conducted. Use PPE accordingly.
