Network System Engineer

Reports to: IT Manager

o Maintenance and support of data and VoIP infrastructure including hardware and software
o Maximizes network performance by monitoring system availability, bandwidth utilization
o Troubleshooting network problems and outages;
o Scheduling upgrade works and maintenance activities in accordance with company management of change standards.
o Collaborating with network architects on network optimization
o Analyzing, troubleshooting and correcting network problems remotely and on-site
o Maintaining and administering perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems
o Perform regular security and risk assessments, to include penetration testing, analysis of network and systems-related security events, and risk analysis
o Provide support for all network security-related issues or queries including existing and new technologies, vendors and applications
o Conduct investigations of network security violations and breaches, provide reports and analysis, and provide recommended solutions
o Perform monitoring and analysis of data across multiple the network infrastructure
o Development, implementation, monitoring and enforcement of security and network policy

Requirements

- Previous Network Support / Engineering experience in a Managed Services Environment
- Relevant Cisco Certs (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc.) are preferred
- 3-5+ years of Cisco Voice / UC Support experience
- 5+ years network engineering experience including LAN/WAN, Routing, Switching, Firewall, and Unified Communications troubleshooting
- Strong experience with various networking protocols
- Strong knowledge of network monitoring systems
- Strong track record of finding resolutions to network performance issues quickly
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high availability environment
