Job Title:      Rig Optimization Engineer

Location       Azerbaijan

A vacancy has arisen for a Rotational Rig Optimization Engineer position as part of the Onshore and Offshore Business Unit. The Rig Optimization Engineer will report to Operations Manager and is responsible for identifying opportunities and developing proposals to improve the operational efficiency of the rigs.

Primary responsibilities of the role are (but not limited to):

• Monitor EDRS reports to ensure accuracy of KPI reporting.
• Liaise with BP Performance Team / KCAD Performance Champions to ensure that KPI Reporting is accurate.
• Directly interface with offshore crews to understand operational performance and any limitations or challenges.
• Facilitate weekly performance calls and meetings to review performance and discuss upcoming activities.
• Hold coaching / training sessions onshore or offshore on elements of performance reporting.
• Develop the Performance Coach so they are part of the performance / continuous improvement process.
• Identify and promote opportunities for improvement and changes in equipment, systems or procedures.
• Prepare objective reports identifying change opportunities, including commercial awareness of modifications and value creation.
• Regularly interface with onshore and offshore KCAD performance champions, Rig Managers, offshore operations teams, BP Performance Management team, RDS Engineering and Aker Solutions to identify areas and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate a program of prioritised changes and track performance improvements resulting from modifications.
• Manage revisions to Work Guidelines to achieve alignment and incorporate best practice across assets.
• Issue weekly / monthly / quarterly / annual progress reports relating to Rig Optimisation initiatives and projects to all relevant parties.
• Liaise with other KCADeutag Operations and ensure Lesson Learned are shared and understood.
• Provide support to other KCADeutag operations and corporate headquarters when asked for information or feedback on KCADeutag initiatives or system upgrades.
• Maintain detailed internal records of activities for handover to back to back.

Minimum Experience:

Candidates should have a proven track record in Drilling and be able to demonstrate effective safety, managerial and supervisory skills.  They will be dedicated to ensuring best in class safety performance and have the ability to promote a safe culture within their team. They should also be an effective communicator and able to demonstrate effective coaching and mentoring skills in order to share their knowledge, experience and facilitate learning amongst their team.
