JOB TITLE:   Mechanic for the New Semi-Submersible Drilling Rig

EMPLOYER:  Caspian Drilling Company Ltd.

DUTY STATION:  Azerbaijan

DEADLINE:  26.06.2015

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Responsible for various duties including but not limited to the operational integrity, maintenance (preventive maintenance), installation and removal of mechanical systems/ components repair and documentation of the offshore unit's system, BOP systems, pipe handling system, rotary components, pumps, mud conditioning equipment, deck equipment such as winches, air tuggers and cranes, and auxiliary equipment such as compressors, pumps and water systems, piping, fittings, valves and emergency preparedness equipment.
• Ensure that all mechanical systems remain operative throughout the operation and comply with safety, regulatory body and test standards
• Maintain the operational integrity of maintenance (preventive maintenance), installation and removal of mechanical systems/components, repair and documentation of the drilling systems and deck systems (Draw works, Brakes, Crown and travelling blocks Drilling hook, Top Drive system, anchor winches, cranes, air comp. etc.)
• Order parts, which will be necessary for maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Complete required maintenance reports.
• Use of parts books as necessary to identify necessary parts and make arrangements for ordering.
• Executes emergency assignment in accordance with station bill as directed.
• Knows rig abandonment procedures and is prepared to act quickly and decisively under direction of the rig supervisors.
• Knows location and use of alarm systems in case of fire.   Advises rig supervisors of fire immediately.
• In case of equipment damage, reports same to rig supervisors immediately.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with other work areas when repairs are necessary.
• Operate various types of machinist equipment, i.e., drill press, lathe, etc.
• Repair and maintain complex mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Maintain appropriate records.
• Maintain tools and mechanic's shop in good housekeeping.
• Maintains lifeboat mechanical systems.
• Assist chief/rig engineer in maintaining adequate inventory for equipment’s.
• Perform or assist in the performance of special tasks or projects as may be assigned by the direct supervisor.
• Participates and contributes in Safety, operational  Meetings, Safety drills and inspections
• Completes as directed any required paperwork

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIECE:

• New hires will preferably possess current experience as Mechanic on floater.
• Must successfully satisfy all applicable international regulatory body and client training certification and/or marine license/document requirements.

COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE:

MS Office: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook

English, Azerbaijani, Russian
