Lead Customs Specialist
Responsibilities
• Manage customs operations of selected business units and implement / update processes according to GE Customs Enterprise Standards
• Audits project, contractual, commercial, shipping, customs, non-tariff and other documents, ideas and actions for compliance with regulations, GE Enterprise Standards and Policies
• Provide daily compliance support to GE businesses, support their import and export operations
• Manage customs documents in- and out- flows, coordinate this activity with GE Businesses and Functions, ensure all customs documentation is reported in due time and retained in compliance with GE internal and external regulations
• Drive process efficiency & simplification throughout the assigned area of responsibility, support to outsourcing initiatives
• Interact and respond to internal and external auditor enquiries, internal and external businesses and functions queries as necessary
• Work with assigned businesses and external service providers to implement Customs Delivery Model
• Controls execution of special customs procedures and regimes in full compliance with regulatory terms and requirements, provides for regulatory reporting of such transactions
• Coordinates customs regulatory and agents’ fees payment reconciliation
• Manages daily customs clearance processes with agents, escalate issues as appropriate
• Ensure all customs agents’ documentation is reported in due time, audited and retained in compliance with GE internal and governmental rules.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Customs, Logistics, International Trade, Finance, Legal or related disciplines;.
• 3 - 5 years of working experience in customs and/or international trade and logistics fields in international business environment;
• Advanced English and Russian skills, both oral and written
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; 1C, Oracle or other ERP system experience is a plus
