Deputy Head of Piping Department
 
Role synopsis

The successful candidate will be responsible for piping activities on the construction platforms.
 
Key accountabilities.

• Ensure that all Piping Supervisions and manpower are instructed in and comply with all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) policy, site regulations, permit to work procedures and instructions and Client requirements.
• Ensure that Piping team members working within the discipline adhere strictly to the latest. Approved for Construction project drawings, Specifications, ISOs, PIDs, Procedures and Site Instructions.
• Review and monitor the availability of drawings, specifications, job instructions, material deliveries and tools applicable to the particular discipline and area of work.
• Liaise closely with site planning and Piping Engineering to ensure that delivery of all company-supplied materials and equipment will meet client requirements.
• Assist with the assessment and resolution of non-conformances.
• Allocates manpower resources to enable efficient work. Experience of supervising a piping staff to achieve effective construction execution.
• Interfaces with the Drafting Office to assess and allocate/recruit resources needed to carry out all necessary drafting.
• Undertakes audits of PID to examine effectiveness and makes recommendations for change where the need is identified or advantage is to be gained.
• Ensures that production quality and quantity standards are observed.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
 
Essential Education

• Higher National Certificate/ Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering.
 
Essential experience and job requirements

• Substantial experience in a supervisory role or surveillance lead capacity over fabrication activities, installation tasks, lifting operations, mechanical completion, simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), permit-to-work (PTW) activities, and other construction operations.
• Substantial experience with effectively interfacing and working together with owner/ contractor engineering & construction personnel and with multi-discipline site teams.
• Considerable experience in welding processes, PWHT, NDT.
• Numerous examples of team leadership roles and participation on high-impact teams.
• High level of expertise in comprehending and interpreting engineering & construction specifications, drawings, and other technical documents.
• Expertise in interpreting and analyzing construction schedules.
