Requirements:
a. A competent and suitably qualified Mechanical Inspector shall be employed.
b. Mechanical Inspector shall be responsible for the technical aspects of mechanical equipment installation operations including, but not necessarily limited to, the following:
• Familiar with the project specifications and all documentation associated with mechanical equipment, e.g. procedures, method statements, datasheets, vendor documentation, maintenance and operations procedures and manuals
• Perform receipt inspection of mechanical equipment and issue Equipment Inspection Reports, and follow them up to satisfactory closure
• Periodic Inspection of equipment and plant to be installed
• Checking of installation practices and quality of alignment, level and orientation
• Pre-run checking and punch-listing of equipment, system and component shortfalls
• Perform inspection of all equipment during equipment pre-commissioning
• Prepare and review test documentation, submit results to Certification Engineers
• Provision of daily summary report, weekly report input and monthly report inputs to line manager.
c. The minimum experience and qualification level for the Mechanical Inspector should be:
Mechanical Engineer holding as a minimum a degree in mechanical engineering and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the offshore platform fabrication industry is considered to be essential.
