Job Description
• Purchase raw materials to bake and decorate pastries
• Prepare a wide variety of desserts and bread items
• Ensure pastry equipment meets health and safety regulations
• Ensure the right quality of ingredients and weighed ingredients
• Operate automatic and manual ovens to bake pastry and cakes
• Finish, glaze and decorate baked goods
• Manage inventory and controlled cost
• Innovate new recipes and menus
• Manage schedules of culinary workers
• Conduct food tastings tasks before serving
• Make sugar free pastries for particular clients
• Consult with clients regarding bakery items
• Ensure pastries and desserts meet quality standards
• Estimate food and labor costs
• Handle relevant equipment
• Recruit and hire junior staff
• Train and supervise culinary staff
• Maintain the cleanliness of bakery equipment and utensils
