Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Reporting to Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer

Essential qualifications:

• Recognised Electrical trade background combined with proven and demonstrable experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineering in O&G or associated industry.
• IT literate [Excel / Word / PowerPoint

Desirable qualifications: 

• Diploma or Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or related subject.
• Permit to work Training/Safety
• HAZOP Training

Essential experience:

• Demonstrable experience in a Electrical Commissioning Engineer or similar role with a proven background of delivery.
• Conversant with the completions process and associated completions management software [WinPCS, Mancon, EDS,GOC, GoCompletions® etc.].
• Experienced in the supervision of personnel and team working.
• Good knowledge of O&G related SHEQ safe working practices / procedures.

Desirable experience: 

• Experience in similar role
• Planning and cost control experience

• IT literate in all major software packages [Word / Excell / Power Point etc.]
• Fully conversant with the completions / commissioning process
• Detailed knowledge of LV and HV electrical equipment and system commissioning
• Conversant with completions / commissioning management software
• Ability to interpret procedures and drawings in particular extensive understanding of P&ID's / SLD's / D&ID's etc.
• Ability to produce technical documents and procedures covering all aspects of the commissioning process
• Ability to produce schedule and cost estimates for applicable commissioning workscope
• Knowledge and use of O&G industry Permit to Work Systems

Primary Function: 

• Accountability for the consistent and safe management of Electrical commissioning workscope, delivering fully commissioned electrical systems / sub-systems in accordance with project requirements [procedures and processes], schedule and budget.

Key Objectives: 

• To play an active role in ensuring that all Project HSE goals are achieved and where possible exceeded.
• To process safe completion of system commissioning in line with the project schedule and milestones, ensuring all systems are handed over in a consistent and timely manner.
• To assist in maintenance of project budget through diligence and utilisation of efficient and effective working practices.

Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities include:

• Identification of sub-system limits and updating of limits in line with latest revision of P&ID's / SLD's [in conjunction with completions personnel]
• Supervise and support Commissioning Technicians in the execution of their daily activities
• Verification of the Completions / Commissioning management database in line with applicable project procedures and latest design data.
• Completion of Commissioning Function Test Procedures (FTP's) and liasion with construction and completions personnel.
• Verification and acceptance of mechanical completion and commissioning handover packages in line with the agreed system handover schedule.
• Ensuring commissioning data, documentation and handover are in accordance with project procedures.
• Adherence to all applicable site/project safety procedures / active participation in all company/project safety initiatives.
• Status reporting of commissioning progress as required by the project.
• Identification & sourcing of Commissioning tools / spares / consumables
• Production of commissioning work packs in line with project procedures
• Co-ordination of equipment vendors / subcontractors during commissioning activities.

Other duties may include

• Provide input into execution of Commissioning audit reviews.
• Provide input into competency assurance system (CDCA).
• Provide input into budget management and cost control.
• Provide input into planning process as requested.
• Provide input into safety reviews / walk-rounds.
