Inventory Control Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures that all inventory items are properly identified and readily accessible
• Accurately maintains computer records of all goods received and shipments made on a daily basis
• Places orders with manufacturers up to authorization limits when the established "low" point is reached
• Ensure that calculations for order points and quantities are performed properly and in compliance with the goals of the dealership
• Be aware of the related polices of manufacturers policy and procedures for order processing
• Maintains all reporting for manufacture supply levels and delivery statistics
• Maintains current knowledge and skills and changing trends in the inventory control area including all aspects of balancing company investment with service levels
• Knowledgeable on all computer systems and rules used to determine  the parts that not required to be kept in inventory to satisfy service goals
• Coordinates with warehousing personnel and parts management to ensure effective processes and procedures for all parts returns to manufacturers 
• Determines all rules to be followed for disposal of parts that not required and also non-returnable to manufacturer
• Coordinates afford with warehousing personnel parts management, accounting staff and outside companies to dispose properly of scrapped parts
• Maintains all recording concerning the scrapped and returned parts
• Creates and maintains all inventory reporting regarding;
o Service level (availability) and turnover
o Stock order purchase ratio
o Inventory non stock to stock and stock to non stock transitions
• Responsible for the regular review of causes of back orders covering;
o In accurate on-hand quantities on the computer
o Warehouse errors
o Orders not promptly places
o Manufacturer shortages
o Transportation delays
• Order cost and carrying charge calculation
o Regularly conduct studies on order costs and revives of carrying charge costs
o Adjust order quantity calculations to reflect current order cost and carrying charges
• Lead time reviews
o Continuously monitors lead time details for each stock order from each vendor
o Adjusts order point calculations to reflect current conditions as obtained from lead time reviews
• Conducts frequent partial annual physical inventory audits to verify accuracy of computer records and provides all necessary reporting for inventory adjustments between physical and computer records
o Recommends changes in procedures and methods between physical and computer records
• Maintains the computerized inventory system as required
• Performs quality control audits for incoming and outgoing shipments
• Assists in general maintenance and cleanup of warehouse
• Performs other duties assigned by his supervisor

Required Competencies

• Preferred degree in mechanical OR electrical field
• Deep knowledge of spare parts in Construction machineries including component life cycle and parts order analysis.
• Required knowledge and skills to optimize stock parts inventory
• Solid inventory management knowledge
• Product knowledge including features and benefits knowledge of all commodities sold
• Good command of English.
