JOB OVERVIEW

Paymaster is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s payroll system in order to ensure timely payment of wages according to the Company’s policies and procedures, ensuring that the payroll function operates effectively and efficiently and that the department adheres to the Company’s standards as well as compliance with Governmental statutory regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FINANCIAL RETURNS

• To ensure that the daily payroll-related operations run smoothly.
• To make sure that all payroll reports, required to go to the government agencies, are properly submitted.
• Ensure that vacation entitlements and accruals are in accordance with the colleague’s labor agreements and the Labor code of Azerbaijan.
• To prepare the payroll journal for the month-end processing and to submit this journal to the Director of Finance on the first day of the month.
• Prepare daily payroll reports for different departments so that they can edit the payroll as necessary.
• Ensure that the payroll system is running effectively and to back up all relevant information that will be used in the current and historical reporting.
• To prepare the Daily Payroll Reports (if needed) that will be used to compile the Labor Report.
• Respond to governmental inquiries.
• Ensure that all taxes, personal charges, etc. are deducted and/or submitted in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all employee payroll advances are deducted and reconciled accordingly.
• Ensure that payments of all deductions are paid on time.
• Ensure that the payroll data is entered on time and submitted to payroll provider for payroll processing.
• Ensure that the reconciliation between the advances and the labor hours between the payroll and the total amount of electronic time clock hours recorded, provided by the Department Heads and verified by HR department, are correct – as per the country’s Labor code, and are compliant with the corporate policy.
• Ensure that all Human Resource information is properly processed and incorporated into the payroll.
• To perform other duties that the Director of Finance assigns.
• Ensure that employees report to work in a timely manner.
• Build effective employee morale in the payroll area and to provide assistance in training.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Conduct co-employee performance evaluations when and if necessary.
• When required, to fulfill any other task, assigned by Hotel Management if they deem reasonable.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment while remaining calm and collective;
Number of employees is around 150 persons
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Self-motivation and organizational skills and the ability to take initiatives
Solid understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
Proficient and accurate computer skills including data entry.
Experience in network based accounting systems.
Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
