Role synopsis

Due to significant growth in the region, PD&MS Energy are looking for an experienced Offshore Construction Engineer to join the team based offshore in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Candidates should have significant experience in the drilling facilities arena and should have worked on upgrades to live drilling units, MODU’s and production installations. They should also have a demonstrable ability in executing construction and engineering workscopes.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for red line mark up of all project documentation and discipline drawings, check sheet / sign-off sheets / G.o.C production, in accordance with engineering deliverables and applicable industry standards.
• Prepare P&ID mark-ups for pressure / leak testing limits / boundaries for Drilling and Production.
• Offshore/Onshore constructability reviews/surveys with discipline Engineers.
• Liaison with in-house H.S.E and Q.A departments as required.
• Completion of daily progress report using formal formats, attendance at morning calls, raising site queries, & client liaison.
• Responsible and accountable for personal safety and safety of others in or at work place(s)
• Convening safety reviews and tool box talks and for raising and adhering to Permits to Work
• Ensuring protection and return of all project related equipment in timely fashion
• Ensuring compliance with Company and Client QMS, SMS and Environmental Policies
• Maintaining valid personal offshore survival and medical certification
• Construction project familiarisation, construction input, active monitoring of site and personnel
• Overseeing and controlling offshore construction supervisors, leading hands, tradespersons and specialist vendor personnel
• Meeting or bettering project schedule or plan
• Authorities:
• Authorised to liaise / interface with Clients, Sub-contractors, Vendors and Certifying Authorities on construction project related issues, associated with above stated areas of responsibility
• Authorised to determine and request resource levels and allocation. 
• Authorised to comply at all times with Company’s Quality and Health and Safety at Work Act Policies, and for review and change implementation of same.
• Authorised to make sound site, construction engineering decisions, on behalf of the Company, within capabilities.
• Authorised to approve timesheets for supervisors, leading hands, tradespersons and specialist vendor personnel
• Role Specific Responsibilities/Tasks:
• Ensuring all duties under this Job Specification are carried out concisely, accurately, timely and professionally and for maintaining accurate, auditable records associated with each function or task
• Ensuring all duties under this Job Specification are performed in a courteous, professional manner, in the best interests of the Company, its personnel, its suppliers and clients

Essential qualifications and experience

• Engineering or Construction Industry Apprenticeship or HNC in relevant Engineering Discipline, or relevant industry experience  
• 5 Years’ Experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil and Gas Construction Industry with 8 years as Supervisor/Superintendent  
• 3 Years’ Experience Involved with Upgrades to Live Drilling Units, Production Installations, Upgrades to M.O.D.U's and Elevating Drilling Units  
• Minimum further training: - SMTD Module 4 - IOSH Managing Safely in the Construction Industry. GOC Guidance on Certification. 
• Demonstrated ability in executing construction & engineering work scopes as detailed in offshore construction Workpack and red line close out of same.  
• Proficiency in use of MS Office: Word/Excel/Outlook and Adobe Acrobat M 
• BOSIET, Offshore Medical & MIST
