Risk Manager (Oil & Gas Industry)

Schedule: 08:00 – 17:00

Transportation: Provided by the company via shuttle buses (to and from the office)

Key accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement the company’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework aligned with industry’s best practices.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor strategic, operational, project, financial, and HSE risks across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.
  • Facilitate risk assessments, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Bow-Tie analysis, and quantitative risk assessments (QRA).
  • Maintain and update the corporate risk register, ensuring risks are ranked, mitigated, and tracked.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Operations, HSE, and Finance to embed risk management practices in decision-making.
  • Support the evaluation of capital projects, EPC contracts, and JV agreements from a risk perspective.
  • Lead risk workshops, scenario planning, and contingency planning exercises with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 
  • Prepare risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership and board committees.
  • Act as focal point during audits, regulatory reviews, and insurance assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement in risk culture, including staff training and awareness programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Oil & Gas or Energy sector, with at least 5 years of experience in risk management roles.
  • Strong understanding of risks associated with Oil & Gas operations and ability to categorize and evaluate risks effectively.
  • Proven experience in risk management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent command of English and Azerbaijani; Russian language proficiency will be considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency with Risk Management Systems / Software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • High level of communication and reporting skills with the ability to present complex risk concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions in critical situations.
