Basic Job Description:

The candidate engineer must have a sound technical knowledge and experience in the design, manufacture and troubleshooting of industrial stationary mechanical equipment; primarily piping systems, pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers and valves. He will provide engineering support to plant operations and maintenance. In addition, he should perform through technical assessments, studies, analysis and investigations on plant problems. Moreover, he should have through knowledge about the latest industrial standards; mainly ASME, API and ASTM. Preferred to be familiar with the utilization of computational simulations or other computer simulation software in the field of mechanical engineering.

Job description

• Provide technical expertise on Mechanical (Static) Equipment.
• Advise on use of standards, practices and design guidelines.
• Knowledge of following international standards: ASME, API, TEMA.
• Participate in review of project design basis, contract requirements, project specifications, process data sheets (PDS), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's), piping material specifications (PMS), plot plans, equipment layout drawings, project philosophies, area classification drawings and other relevant documents. Identify and resolve discrepancies from original proposal through technical queries to projects/client.
• Participate in preparation of the Technical document register (TDR), deliverable list, identify technical requirements, scope of work.
• Prepare equipment design basis, mechanical data sheets, construction / erection bill of quantities.
• Provide necessary information for preparation of plot plans, organize the issuance of engineering drawings / mechanical data sheets and technical documents for Inter-discipline checks (IDC's), coordinate with other engineering discipline for input data.
• Prepare inquiry requisitions, vendors and manufacturers data requirements, participate in the technical evaluation of vendor offers, preparation of technical bid evaluations (TBE), purchase requisitions, review vendor drawings and documents.
• Participate in review of design calculations; ensure vendor equipment specifications meet the client equipment specifications.
• Participate in HAZOP meeting / studies with client and representatives of other engineering disciplines.
• Meet vendor representatives, inspect vendor works, attend / review reports of equipment testing (When required).
• Knowledge, understanding and application of company's procedures and quality standards.

Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering Degree.
• Autodesk Architectural Desktop; Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Broad engineering design experience required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the Petrochemical, Oil and Gas Industry or from equipment manufacturer with experience in design.
• Computer literacy
• Ability to follow instructions
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Russian, Azerbaijani and English languages
• Major projects experience preferable
• Delivery of static mechanical vessels/systems/packaged equipment preferable
• Company or other major operator experience preferred
